The Prince of Lazuli - Original Artwork
Cloaked in a stunning blue and turquoise plumage, the sacred kingfisher is the sparkling jewel of Australian birdlife. Beautiful, yet tough and stocky they dart upon their prey in a flash of colour from branches above the forest floor. This bird draws many parallels and commands the same respect as the deep blue semi-precious stone, Lapis Lazuli. Symbolizing wisdom, intuition, and truth this stone was used by ancient royalty including Cleopatra and the Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Aptly titled, “The Prince of Lazuli”, this stunning bird is certainly worthy of the awe and respect that its name suggests.
This traditionally painted original watercolour artwork would look superb in a frame or could be a lovely gift for a special occasion. It has been painted on 300gsm Arches Coldpress paper. The dimensions measure 36 x 48 cm (inclusive of a 3cm white border for handling and framing purposes).
